Outdoor Lunch at Seattle Children's Home - 1933

Photo from the collection of the Museum of History and Industry

"The Seattle Children's Home was founded as an orphanage, and with the help of a group of progressive women became a substantial institution dedicated to the care of children in need. A large building with room for 70 children opened in 1905 on Queen Anne, at Tenth Avenue W. and W. McGraw Street. In 1932 the old building was replaced by a new fireproof brick structure. In this photo, a group of girls at the Seattle Children's Home are eating a meal outdoors."
