Gang invades the Black Hills
|
| Marilyn McClellan White, '73, sent us the following information about a motorcyle trip which she and a couple of other Grizzlies took this past summer. From the photos she included, it appears that bikers not only care meticulously for their machines but also take extraordinary care of their prize Grizzly T-shirts. | "These photos are of a cross country trip Karen Case Browne ('71), Marilyn McClellan White ('73) and Ted White ('71) took this summer to Sturgis, South Dakota, for the annual Black Hills Motorcycle Rally. We spent 17 days on the road, taking our time to get there, going through Yellowstone Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We travelled with 11 motorcycles and 1 truck, 15 people in all. We rode the Black Hills for 5 days and returned home, visiting the sights along the way, including the Montana State Prison Museum at Deer Lodge, which is the "Grizzlies in Jail" and the "Hokie Pokie" ["The End(s)] picture." |

The
story on the T-shirts
|
| "Those
T-shirts are from the Last Hurrah. About 17 years ago, when they began
to turn the school into condos, Rachel Eberlein LaRoche '73, Dorie Nussbaum
'73 and Ted and I went to the open house at the school so we could go
through and see a mock-up of a condo, and look into all the classrooms
before renovation began. Anyway, Ted and I bought those shirts then, but Ted outgrew his (he claims it shrank!). So, Karen inherited Ted's old shirt. Thus, Karen and I both have the same shirt. I'll be wearing it when I go see the Rockaway band on 11/22, with Rachel and Dorie and maybe Karen, too. Anyway, I love my shirt and wear it carefully." |
