"The thing most remembered about Jack is his smile. He was always smiling and his smile was always sincere. Everybody who knew him, even for a short time, was impressed by this friendly and unassuming boy. Even those who did not know Jack noticed his unaffected and natural way. Jack was a great lover of the outdoors. He was honest and a fine student, and everything he attempted, he did to the best of his ability. Jack's sudden death was felt deeply by everyone who knew him."
