In front of Catherine Blaine School is the garden memorial to students who died in Vietnam. Accoding to the Queen Anne/Magnolia News, A Magnolia Boy Scout, Tom Wall, replaced the plaque and, with help from fellow Scouts, added the memorial garden in 2000. Before Wall's work, the original plaque, done in 1970, was found overgrown and partly erroneous.
