54 Grizzlies

The Class of 1954 had a great 60th reunion in August, organized by our 18-member committee and chaired by our very own Dee Hawkes. We met on Thursday for the Happy Hour at Anthony's Homeport in Ballard to renew friendships after five years--or more. Chairs Joy Vanasse Goodenough and Jerry Shierk included a drawing of items for the lucky winners. Friday we had dinner at the Seattle Yacht Club with a Silent Auction afterward. Among items auctioned was a beautiful afghan knit by Alice Vanni, Ralph's wife, in Grizzly colors. Saturday, a wonderfully sunny day, we met at Edmonds City Park from noon to 4:00 for a picnic with food provided by the reunion and organized by Jack and Evie Reiman Drexel. We also distributed an updated memory book that included bios of as many of our classmates as we had ever heard from. Fifty eight of our classmates, with 32 spouses, came to one or all of the three events.
